Job Description:
STQ Partners are currently partnered with a specialist Industrial Power Systems business . The business has vast experience in electrical packages and execution on power projects . With multiple sites in Houston , the business has over a century long heritage, serving and supplying the industrial power systems world. They are now seeking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to join the business. The business is scaling to keep up with engineered to order & speciality project pipeline demands . The overall objective of the Manufacturing Engineer is to be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. This role partners with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement, support new product introductions, and solve complex production challenges .
Responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards. Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to support new product introductions, including process design, prototyping, and validation. Conduct time studies, workflow analyses, and capacity planning to optimize production lines. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and provide technical support to production teams. Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards. Support automation initiatives and evaluate new manufacturing technologies for feasibility and ROI. Monitor production metrics and provide data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in switchgear, electrical, or industrial equipment manufacturing. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with process design, workflow optimization, and production planning. Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, UL, or equivalent). There is a genuine opportunity for someone to join a growing team and business.
