Job description:

Supports production operations by designing, building, and implementing jigs, tooling, and fixtures. Ensures production meets customer CTF requirements before the process reaches the shop floor. Works with production and quality teams to maintain CTF deliverables throughout manufacturing. Analyzes production processes to identify areas requiring support and tooling improvements. Creates work instructions and processes that ensure customer satisfaction goals. Evaluates production tasks and drawings to meet CTF metrics and develop tools, fixtures, or gauges. Collaborates with production and quality teams on process implementation of new tools and fixtures. Uses data analysis to identify productivity, quality, material flow, safety, and cost improvement opportunities. Prioritizes improvement actions, establishes schedules, and implements costsaving measures. Implements Lean initiatives including standardized work instructions, value stream mapping, and Kaizen/5S. Conducts time studies and audits to adjust labor estimates. Works with vendors on specifications and product evaluations against quality requirements. Leads crossfunctional improvement teams with engineering, production, and estimating. Collaborates with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and improve designs through DFM feedback. Documents and tracks cost savings and process improvements. Evaluates quality data and implements improvement measures. Plans and executes facility and work cell layout modifications to optimize material and product flow. Develops and implements production tools, equipment, and assets to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Supports estimating by providing direct labor and raw material cost estimates. Maintains cost models for use in estimating. Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Academic Requirements:

BS/MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Engineering. Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus. Experience in development of fixtures and jigs.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum ten years of experience as an Industrial, Manufacturing, Process, or Continuous Improvement Engineer in heavy/industrial manufacturing. Familiarity with fabrication, welding, and assembly processes. Experience with Lean processes such as standardized work, 5S, and process improvement initiatives. High proficiency in blueprint reading and P&ID interpretation. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Experience in maketoorder/engineertoorder environments.

Preferred Requirements:

Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt. Experience in fixtures and jig development. Background in DFM collaboration and manufacturing engineering environments.

Salary:

$110,000 per year.
