Senior Design Engineer (Fuel Equipment)

Salary:

Duration:

Permanent/Direct-Hire We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead the design and execution of fuel delivery and combustion system projects for industrial and utility boiler applications. This is a high-impact role offering technical ownership, client interaction, field commissioning exposure, and long-term growth into a subject matter expert position. Responsibilities Lead design and execution of natural gas fuel systems and combustion equipment projects Develop P&IDs and specify equipment including filtration, pressure reduction, flow control, burners, and auxiliaries Perform system analysis, equipment sizing, and code-compliant fuel system design Support proposals, technical presentations, and customer consultations Lead startup, commissioning, testing, and performance optimization activities Contribute to engineering standards and technical best practices Qualifications BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering 8+ years of experience in fuel systems, combustion systems, or related industrial/process industries Strong knowledge of natural gas system design, combustion equipment, ASME B31, and NFPA codes Experience with industrial boilers or utility/power generation projects preferred Field startup/commissioning experience a plus CFD experience and PE license preferred Ability to travel as needed This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer looking to work on complex energy infrastructure projects while advancing into a senior technical leadership role.
