Insight Global is seeking a Design Engineer for a top steel manufacturing client. This candidate will be responsible for designing open web steel joists used in projects ranging from commercial developments to large-scale industrial facilities and stadiums. They will review project documents, perform structural calculations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical support throughout the design and production process. Day-to-Day:

Design open web steel joists for a variety of commercial and industrial projects Review structural drawings, architectural drawings, and project specifications Prepare and review joist design calculations, including sealed calculations when required Provide technical guidance to detailers, sales teams, shop personnel, and production teams Communicate with internal teams, customers, and design professionals throughout project lifecycles Participate in plant immersion, training, and collaborative design reviews in Grapeland Support product promotion efforts with specifiers and at industry conventions Ensure all designs meet industry standards and manufacturing requirements

SALARY - 120-145K

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience in steel construction Active Professional Engineer (PE) license ​ Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently
