The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks, have a strong background in firearms design, and possess a solid understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and various manufacturing methods. Experience with suppressor design and development is a significant bonus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage engineering projects from start to finish, including design, development, testing, and production launch. Develop and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks. Apply DFM principles to ensure designs are optimized for efficient manufacturing and assembly. Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure project success. Lead design reviews, provide technical guidance, and implement feedback to improve product performance and reliability. Conduct engineering analysis, including tolerance stack-ups, FEA, and material selection. Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, reports, and timelines. Required Education, Experience and Skills Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proficient in SolidWorks, with strong skills in 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Proven experience managing projects from concept to completion in an engineering environment. In-depth knowledge of firearms design and functionality. Strong understanding of DFM principles and manufacturing processes. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Collaborate with and support other engineers as needed to achieve project goals and optimize resource utilization. Effective communication skills for technical discussions and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with suppressor design and development. Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with ERP systems and document control processes. Background in materials science and advanced manufacturing techniques.
Work Environment:
Work performed in an office and manufacturing environment. Exposed to machine shop manufacturing elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc. Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
