Engineering - DAPIA Monitoring About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support our DAPIA Monitoring team. This role focuses on assisting with design calculations, updates, documentation management, and compliance reviews under the HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards. The intern will gain direct exposure to factory-built processes, structural systems, and the organizational discipline required to manage large volumes of calculations and design files. Key Responsibilities Assist engineers with preparing, organizing, and reviewing structural, mechanical, and electrical calculations for HUD-regulated designs. Maintain calculation packages, ensuring traceability, version control, and proper alignment with approved design sets. Verify inputs used in design spreadsheets (e.g., loads, spans, reactions) and compare against design manuals, plan sets, and manufacturer specifications. Update design data tables, load tracking sheets, and calculation logs for plan reviews and audits. Participate in internal design reviews focused on HUD code compliance, structural integrity, and manufacturability. Support engineering documentation related to QA/QC, change management, and design approvals. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline. Foundational knowledge of statics, materials, and basic structural behavior. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large data sets and calculation folders. Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, load tables, and technical documents. Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills Exposure to factory-built construction, modular systems, or HUD manufactured housing standards. Experience organizing calculation sets for plan review, engineering audits, or quality-control processes.
