Job Description

Build your future in domestic solar manufacturing with a modern, highly automated production facility in Forest, Virginia. In this Solar Panel Manufacturing SME opportunity, you'll own the front end of a fully automated PV module line—driving high throughput, high yield, and sub-millimeter accuracy from cell handling through stringing, soldering, and robotic layup. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Solar Panel Manufacturing SME position include: 3+ years of experience in PV module manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, or high-precision automation. Hands-on experience with cell cutting, stringing/soldering, robotic layup, and/or automated interconnection equipment. Experience tuning and optimizing stringer performance (throughput, breakage rate, alignment accuracy). Ability to define and tune soldering profiles, recipes, flux chemistry, and wetting parameters to minimize thermal stress. Own operation, maintenance, and performance of upstream equipment (cell cutters, stringers, layup robots, conveyors, and upstream stations). Lead equipment troubleshooting and structured root-cause analysis to improve throughput, yield, and equipment uptime. Proficiency with PLC-controlled equipment; familiarity with SCADA, MES, SPC, DOE, and Minitab or JMP is relevant. Serve as an onsite subject-matter expert who leads and trains technicians and operators.
