Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as an Entry-Level Roadway Design Engineer in Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC.
Responsibilities include:
Develop horizontal and vertical geometry and typical sections
Roadway Design Modeling using Bentley Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
Prepare plans, exhibits, cost estimates and specifications
Identify and apply or use the standards, guidelines and principals in the AASHTO Green Book, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Safety Manual, and other local and national standards
Assist in the analysis, preparation, or modification of reports, calculations, studies, permits, and designs for projects
Attend client meetings and assist in client contact and communications
Field observations of roadway conditions and data collection A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have:
A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited college or university. The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: Transportation design coursework/ internship
MicroStation or AutoCAD
EI or ability to obtain within 12 months

Salary Range:
$68,000-$85,000 (annual) - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening requirements.
