JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer will design, integrate, and improve manufacturing systems or related processes. They will work with others to refine product designs to increase producibility and decrease costs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Manufacturing Engineer ensures the production line is up and running through a variety of duties. The Manufacturing Engineer will implement product changes, address problems on the production line, and perform line balancing while performing the following duties: Highly responsive to resolve manufacturing and repair station issues while managing internal and external customer expectations, adjusting schedule and priorities with business needs. Develops, implements, and maintains methods, work instructions, and operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with Program Management, Production Control,Product Support, Quality Engineering, Design and Sr. Manufacturing Engineers to coordinate and support the release of new products and revisions to existing products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines, working independently or as a contributor to a team. Drives continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste, cost, and defects in Production, repair station, and in business processes. May be acting as departmental representative on a cross-functional team. Supports a culture of Environmental Health and Safety. Ensures manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations. Creates and maintains EPS (Engineering Process Specifications) and/or Manufacturing Engineering business process documents. Acts as a liaison in addressing quality and manufacturability concerns between internal and external suppliers and customers, identifying and implementing improvements in cost, yield and lead times. Researches, designs, and develops new processes, tooling and equipment of moderate complexity. Creates validation plans and reports including initial release, modification and/or physical moves. Maintains records, metrics and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Performs maintenance of basic equipment, tools, and/or fixtures as needed. Supports non-conformance/rejection and MRB. Performs all other duties as needed to support the business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Demonstrates familiarity (typically 2+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position)
Technical Skills:
Understanding the fundamentals of lean manufacturing. Basic knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC). Familiarity with fundamental tooling and fixture design. Basic knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA). Basic knowledge of Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA). Learning the basics of process validation. Familiarity with FMEAs (Failure Modes and Effects Analyses). Exposure to technical documentation practices.
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
As a US Department of Defense Contractor, this position may involve access to items subject to U.S. export-control laws. Employment is contingent upon the employee's authorization to access such items under applicable law. An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background screening and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis. Base salary range is $72,746
  • $109,119 per year. Midpoint is $90,933. Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
