Full Job Description Salary Range:

Uncapped Employee Referral Program of up to $700 per qualified referral Summary The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for development and improvement of composite part fabrication processes, methods, and tooling. Position may include design of tools, shop floor manufacturing support, process development and introduction of new products, as well as providing leadership to ME team members. Required Qualifications Detailed understanding of GD&T. Experience in Work Instruction creation. Proficient in verbal and written communication skills; able to prepare technical documents for customers. Composite part fabrication experience. Implementation of continuous improvements by the use of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen methods. Reviewing drawings, models, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures and activities. Establishment of sequences of operations to fabricate and assemble composite products that promote efficient utilization of equipment and labor. Implementing and improving new manufacturing processes. Experience with composite process and specifications of thermoset and/or thermoplastic parts and structures. Experience in establishing qualification plans, in order to qualify processes and equipment to the customer specifications. Capable of designing or defining the requirements for the development of equipment, robotics, Lay-up molds, Vacuum Holding Fixtures, Shop Aids, Positioning fixtures, Go-No-Go inspection tools required for the manufacturing of new products. Capable of performing safety, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), Process Capability and Total Product Maintenance (TPM) for new and existing equipment. Understanding basic industrial engineering practices, such as, time studies, statistical analysis, ergonomic impacts, and value engineering principals. Ability to lead and mentor others. Responsible for leading multidiscipline teams in projects of significant impact to the company's objective. Ability to perform with little to no supervision. Preferred Qualifications Ply shape flat pattern development. Tool Design experience. Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus process and specifications. Familiar with composite autoclave or oven curing cycles, thermal profiles, recipes, thermal effects, thermal expansion, wrinkles and tooling spring back effects. Education Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
Experience Degreed applicants:
minimum of 10 years of experience in composites aircraft industry in related field is required.
Non-degreed applicants:
must possess 15+ years' minimum experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in this job description. Computer Skills Experience with Catia V5, Inventor, Solid Works, or other 3-Dimensional CADs required. Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project. Epicor experience or equivalent ERP system. Working Conditions While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment. Extended periods of sitting at a desk in an office environment. Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature-controlled. Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Exposure to hazardous equipment. Exposure to contaminants. Shared workspaces with other employees. Requires handing objects of up to 50 lbs. Lifting pushing, pulling, and bending. Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift and overtime). Working Conditions While performing the typical duties of this job, employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment. Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature controlled Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels Exposure to hazardous equipment Exposure to contaminants Shared workspaces with other employees Requires handling objects of up to 30 lbs. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime) Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.
