Manufacturing Engineer Job Description The Manufacturing Engineer 3 is a key role responsible for providing technical leadership in manufacturing, plant, and industrial engineering. This position focuses on developing and managing process and material flow in warehouse and assembly areas, serving as the primary contact for technical assembly inquiries. The role involves creating scalable manufacturing processes and ensuring readiness for new product launches. Responsibilities Lead manufacturing technical support to improve technologies, production quality, and implement new processes and strategies. Define and design tooling standards to ensure quality production by contractors and service providers. Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions. Participate in the product design review process and provide technical input to Design Engineers. Lead process design activities and ensure new processes align with best practices. Ensure new product designs incorporate Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) standards. Design and implement assembly and test machines, ensuring jigs and tools meet set standards. Collaborate with design and production leaders to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs. Define part/process routing strategy and create standard work instructions. Essential Skills Expertise in manufacturing process, design for manufacturing, and continuous improvement. Experience with lean manufacturing and proficiency in CAD software and 3D CAD. Knowledge of automation systems and CNC machining. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering required. 7+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer. Proficiency with 3-D solid modeling software such as Inventor and AutoCAD. Ability to review engineering drawings and define GD&T callouts. Familiarity with CNC processes and proficient with software such as MS Office, ERP Systems, AutoCAD, Solid Modeling, FEA, and motion analysis/simulations. Skilled in various manufacturing processes like machining, assembly, and material processing. Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization techniques. Ability to plan, organize, and track manufacturing projects. Self-driven with strong initiative and ability to work autonomously. Mentorship skills for training junior engineers and technicians. Work Environment The role is based in an on-site, hands-on manufacturing and engineering environment. It involves a fast-paced, high-collaboration culture with engineering, production, and operations teams.
