As we take our business into the next 50 years, we have identified the need to expand our Manufacturing Engineering Team to drive our customer experience through improved process, design planning and product accuracy. The Manufacturing Engineer III is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing manufacturing process improvements that support business, quality, cost, and delivery objectives. This role establishes, standardizes, and trains teams on manufacturing best practices, while creating robust manufacturing plans that ensure efficiency, safety, and accuracy at each assembly station. In addition to hands-on process development, the Manufacturing Engineer provides technical leadership across the production floor, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and acts as a key liaison between engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations. This is a high-energy, assertive role with direct accountability for manufacturing performance and a significant impact on the successful launch, sustainment, and continuous improvement of our products.Responsibilities include:
Owns the definition and evolution of manufacturing processes, tooling strategies, work instructions, and capacity planning, ensuring scalability and long-term operational excellence. Expected to proactively identify risks, lead root cause and corrective action efforts, and use data-driven analysis to optimize throughput and reduce variation. Collaborate with Quality and Design Engineering to review new or modified designs and build quality, efficiency, and consistency into the manufacturing process. Lead problem solving and corrective actions related to manufacturing processes. Utilize Value Stream Mapping to optimization the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization. Research, recommend, plan and coordinate the introduction of new manufacturing equipment and processes. Manage manufacturing related projects, including prioritization, milestone tracking and reporting to senior management. Identify and initiate Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities. Work closely with the Production, Quality and Product Development Teams to set up manufacturing processes for new products. Prepare manufacturing studies to determine optimum manufacturing costs, quality and inventories. Organize, plan, lead, and report on Manufacturing related projects Responsibility for Work of Others This role is not responsible for the work of others.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Manufacturing related field or equivalent work experience required Master's degree in a Manufacturing related field a plus Experience with formal project management highly desired 10+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment required In-depth knowledge and experience implementing lean initiatives Must have great interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate through verbal and written instruction to a wide range of audience Must be assertive with excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be skilled at trouble shooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise. Must have ability to work in a fast-paced production and engineering environment. Physical Demands May be required to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds Regularly required to sit, stand and walk about the facility - occasionally spending extended periods of time standing, and bending or stooping Occasional (<10%) travel to customers / suppliers Work Environment Works in both an office / production environment and out on the manufacturing floor Regularly exposed to dust, odors, fumes and noiseSimilar remote jobs
