Docent Design & Manufacturing (DDM) is a machine shop and engineering firm which builds and manufactures components for the aerospace and consumer industry (www.docentdesign.com). DDM does small run batches to large run batches as well as custom machinery and equipment. A small company with potential for growth. DDM has an easy and flexible work environment as well as flexible work hours with a fun work environment. Duties Absolute must that the employee is not afraid to perform any task which could include sweeping and packaging to engineering design. DDM is a small company therefore employee will be expected to do a broad range of task and duties which could include the following but not limited to… Design and manufacturing of components from consumer products to aerospace tooling and parts. Tool Design and understand of shop Fabrication methods a must CAD Software knowledge is a must, preferably Solidworks FEA or simple hand calculations for engineering problems Understanding of drawing creation and GD&T standards Strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint Knowledge of quality standards and AS9100 and ISO9001. Creating shop work plans in word or similar computer software. Working with others in design teams and working under tight deadlines Aid in research and development Program management experience a plus Qualifications Highly important employees have a positive attitude and wanting to learn. Manufacturing shop environment experience Strong communication skills, expected to report out and talk to end customer When at work expected to work and share thoughts for process improvements Detail oriented mindset. Metal working experience or ability to handle metal and plastics. Preferred 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment 3-4 years of CAD software experience, preferably in SolidWorks Some post high school education is preferred but not required. Work well with others, positivity for a healthy work atmosphere is a must. DDM has competitive pay and will depend on interview process and experience. 2-3 weeks paid time off for full time employees. This position has flexible work hours (day shift).
