Job Summary Superior Diesel (www.sdiesel.com) and Bell Power Systems (www.bellpower.com) are one of North America's largest, authorized value-add distributors of John Deere industrial and marine diesel engines, Rehlko industrial diesel engines, and Zenith Spark Ignited industrial engines. This is an on-site/hybrid position, located at our facility in Rhinelander, WI. The Design Engineer I will Initiate and develop designs to meet the engineering requirements of our customers. Familiarity with CAD, and fundamental engineering design calculations, reference materials and MS Office. Design engineers also conduct design reviews, present results of design studies and interface with both designers and project managers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Value-added engine package design, documentation and application SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation Provide support to purchasing, manufacturing & Applications Engineering Work closely with Project/Design Engineers to produce designs that meet design standards, are manufacture able, and economically feasible. Assist in the design and development of fabricated and machined components as well as multiple component assemblies as directed by Design/Project Engineers Convert CAD models and assemblies into detail drawings to include dimensions and notes for manufacture Maintains all electronic CAD data and 2D drawings and routinely performs checks to ensure data is compliant with company practices Prepares and enters into ERP system the Bills of Materials and drawing revisions Research, document and complete Engineering changes through an Engineering change process Communicates with Purchasing, Engineering, Production and other facilities regarding new and revised designs or drawings Performing application reviews of installed engine packages Other duties as required Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to work well with others and assist the public cooperatively and courteously. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone and in person, with strong telephone etiquette. Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Must be able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption. Must have knowledge of English, including proper use of grammar, punctuation, spelling and style. Must demonstrate competency with computers and be proficient with standard office software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must be able to work independently and carry out assignments to completion with minimum instruction and adhere to established routines and practices. Must have a strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and a commitment to quality and consistency in performance. Education and Experience Required A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred An Associate's Degree and at least four years of experience in an engineering environment will be considered Candidates should be proficient in SolidWorks and have general CAD experience Design Engineer Expectations As a Design Engineer, you are expected to perform the responsibilities of this position in an efficient, accurate and courteous manner while dealing with frequent interruptions.
