  • Using continuous improvement tools, leads projects to improve equipment cleanliness, debottleneck processes, improve throughput, reduce waste, and decrease costs.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to detail operations of new equipment or revises SOP's to reflect changes to operations as a result of modifications to existing equipment.
  • Develops capacity models for existing processing lines and identifies bottlenecks that restrict capacity. Suggests projects that can improve capacity on the line.
  • Creates capital proposal including scope document, cost estimate and timeliness for management review and approval.
  • Manages projects to meet all technical requirements.
  • Develops project specifications and systems by making calculations, preparing process flow diagrams (PFD's), piping and instrumentation drawings (P&ID's), site and floor plans.
  • Leads the selection of contractors/vendors and supervises same in actual design and specifications of installations.
  • Conducts feasibility studies for new or existing systems.
  • Assists in training Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Operators in the proper operation of equipment and prepare various instruction manuals.
  • Assis in the revisions to Standard Manufacturing Procedures (SMP's).
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Post‑secondary education in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred, but not required.
  • Candidates with equivalent hands‑on experience in mechanical, electrical, or food‑processing environments will be fully considered.
  • Early‑career professionals, recent graduates, or individuals transitioning from technical or operations roles are encouraged to apply. Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or capital projects, or relevant co‑op, internship, apprenticeship, or technician experience.
  • Exposure to project management activities such as scheduling, documentation, cost tracking, vendor coordination, or drawing reviews.
  • Basic understanding of engineering resource usage and cost awareness (with guidance and oversight).
  • Interest or introductory experience in food processing operations or sanitary design principles preferred.
  • Process improvement exposure through continuous improvement initiatives, Lean, Six Sigma projects, kaizen events, or on‑the‑job problem solving is an asset.
  • Experience working in or alongside manufacturing, maintenance, quality, or operations teams is preferred. Key Competencies (Developing Level)
  • Ability to support project execution under the guidance of senior engineers or project managers.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to track tasks, risks, and action items.
  • Strong willingness to learn engineering, project, and plant standards.
  • Effective communication skills when working with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Developing capability to coordinate internal resources and interface with external engineering or construction partners, with supervision.
Compensation Data The pay range for this position is $64,479 to $105,272 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition, this position is also eligible to earn a performance-based incentive compensation.
