A Lean Manufacturing Engineer develops LEAN work methodology within a manufacturing environment, optimizes machining processes to reach optimum product quality, efficiency and process repeatability at the lowest cost. Leads and deploys best practices in the manufacturing process by supporting continuous improvement in various manufacturing processes by reducing the tooling costs and improving the flow of material and setting up cycle times.

Process Engineer Internship:
Gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations through root cause analysis, data collection and statistical analysis, and Lean continuous improvement initiatives. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to solve real-world engineering challenges and drive operational excellence.
Program structure:
Schedule:
Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.

Duration:
Year-round internship What we're looking for: Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore standing. Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software:
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Ability to succeed in a team environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Preferred experience:
Basic Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Skills Experience working in a manufacturing environment. What you'll focus on: Work in the draw departments to improve production efficiency, product quality, and assist in the implementation of standards. Performing time studies, working with operators on how to improve the process, and identifying root causes of production issues. Process analysis and optimization
