In this role, you'll translate client requirements and site conditions into complete, buildable designs for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems — producing the drawings, device layouts, and material specifications that drive every project. Sitting at the intersection of sales, operations, and the field, you'll partner with account executives on scope and estimating, hand clean design packages to project managers and technicians, and ensure every system is designed to code, to budget, and to Biztec's quality standard. Produce detailed device layouts, floor plans, riser diagrams, and system design documents using System Surveyor. Develop bills of materials (BOMs), equipment schedules, and part specifications. Perform take-offs and support the sales and estimating team with accurate scope and pricing. Conduct or review site surveys and interpret architectural and construction drawings. Select appropriate hardware and technologies to meet performance, budget, and code requirements. Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, ADA, and local AHJ requirements. Prepare permit, submittal, and closeout documentation, including as-built drawings. Collaborate with account executives, project managers, and field technicians to ensure designs are practical and buildable. Maintain design standards, templates, and documentation for consistency across projects. Stay current on products, technologies, codes, and industry best practices. Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings. Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ADA, and applicable codes. Understanding of IP networking as it relates to security systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Valid driver's license for occasional site visits. Preferred Degree or certificate in engineering, drafting, design, or a related field. NICET certification or manufacturer certifications. ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification. An active low-voltage or alarm license. Experience producing BOMs and supporting estimating.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
