Job Description

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for supporting production through CAD design, fixture development, and CNC/laser programming in a contract manufacturing environment. This role bridges engineering and shop floor execution, ensuring efficient, repeatable, and high-quality manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
Create and modify 3D models, flat patterns, and drawings using SolidWorks. Design and develop production fixtures, jigs, and tooling to improve throughput and quality. Program and optimize CNC laser cutting equipment (nesting, cut paths, parameters) Troubleshoot laser programs, tooling, and production issues on the shop floor. Interpret customer prints and engineering drawings. Support continuous improvement initiatives (cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, workflow improvements). Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues. Maintain accurate documentation for programs, fixtures, and processes.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Design, or related field preferred. OR 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing (steel, fabrication, or service center environment) Strong proficiency in SolidWorks. Experience with laser programming Fixture/tooling design experience Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes Blueprint reading Familiarity with nesting software and CNC programming concepts Ability to work independently and cross functionally Strong attention to detail and process improvement focus
