Index.Responsibilities:
About the Role The NPI / Manufacturing Engineering Technician is a hands-on technical role supporting Engineering, Quality and Operations with the industrialization, transfer, qualification, launch and stabilization of new and transferred products. Working primarily on the manufacturing floor, this position helps turn drawings, process requirements and engineering direction into capable, repeatable production processes while supporting the responsible engineer. What You'll Do Support new product introduction and product transfer activities across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain and Metrology. Execute development, transfer, first-article and qualification builds under engineering direction. Set up and prove out manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, workholding, materials and production methods. Run manufacturing trials, collect process data, document results and troubleshoot equipment, dimensional, yield and process issues. Support tooling and fixture development, modification, setup and validation to improve manufacturability and repeatability. Work with Quality and Metrology on inspection methods, FAI, qualification documentation, CMM/fixture requirements, control plans and related records. Support equipment and process transfers, installation, commissioning, work-center readiness and production launch activities. Work directly with operators and supervisors to establish standard work, provide hands-on training and transfer qualified processes into production. Maintain NPI and transfer documentation, including routings, work instructions, qualification records, process parameters and ERP manufacturing data. Remain engaged through production ramp and stabilization, supporting early issues involving yield, quality, delivery, equipment and process repeatability.Qualifications:
What We're Looking For Associate degree, technical certificate, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing, machining, engineering technology or a related field is preferred. Three or more years of hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing, machining, process development, equipment setup, NPI, product transfer or a related technical environment is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to set up, operate, troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes and equipment. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, routings, work instructions, inspection requirements and technical procedures. Strong practical problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication and interpersonal skills. Computer proficiency is required; ERP, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar technical software experience is a plus. Precision manufacturing and/or machining experience is preferred; ceramics manufacturing experience is a plus. Why Join Morgan?
