Job Title:
Production Technician Job Description As a Production Technician, you will support the production department by assisting technicians. Your duties will include learning quality standards, conducting hourly machine checks, and identifying defects with oversight. You will also be responsible for packaging rolls, retrieving required items, and safely disposing of hazmat waste. This role requires following detailed instructions and working under close supervision to complete tasks, including machine setup and troubleshooting minor issues. Responsibilities Prepare, wrap, and label products for processing. Load and unload products from equipment. Embrace continuous improvement for overall success. Perform duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor. Move and lift materials up to approximately 55 lbs. Check for defects on the production line. Conduct hourly checks of the machine. Review and understand quality processes and identify issues with oversight. Set up and operate machines for advanced composite materials with oversight. Escalate equipment and production issues to the Lead or Supervisor. Essential Skills Experience in production, general labor, and assembly line operations. Skills in mixing, packaging, and general production tasks. Ability to perform quality inspections and identify defects. Basic machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting skills. Material handling, packaging, wrapping, and labeling capabilities. Adherence to safety procedures and PPE use. Knowledge of hazmat waste disposal. Ability to follow detailed instructions and escalate issues. Team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. At least 3 months of experience in composites or production preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in math and basic computer skills (math test given during interview). Ability to convert grams to pounds. Capability to follow written and verbal instructions for machine operation. Clear communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Ability to work as a team and maintain orderly and safe work areas. Work Environment The position offers a swing shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with a 10% differential. Alternatively, there is an opportunity for an overnight shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, also with a 10% differential. The work involves adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protection equipment, and requires lifting materials up to 55 lbs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
