12 months Overview Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support the Spacecraft Components organization within the Payload and Ground Systems division. This team designs and produces spacecraft components used across satellites, including spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable systems, mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. This role supports manufacturing operations, mechanical assembly, prototype setup/testing, rework, quality testing, data collection, and process improvement in a spacecraft component production environment. Key Responsibilities Perform fabrication and assembly of mechanical components, subassemblies, and final assemblies Set up and test prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions Analyze test data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures Support mechanical engineers with design, test, fabrication, and assembly activities Perform manufacturing operations including setup, calibration, rework, and quality testing Use software/programs to collect and evaluate operating data Conduct online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing processes Handle and manage fragile composite materials Track adhesive material usage, traceability, pot life, and out-time controls Report data and interface with other employees and departments Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, engineering drawings, schematics, and shop planning Maintain overall shop cleanliness and organization Basic Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of additional education and/or related experience Ability to read, write, and follow instructions written in English Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on manufacturing schedules Strong initiative, adaptability, and motivation for excellence Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Demonstrated mechanical ability Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and/or schematics Familiarity with proper hand tool use and safety, including wrenches, screwdrivers, and related tools Familiarity with torque concepts and proper torque application Preferred Qualifications Experience using electronic test equipment such as DC power supplies, digital multimeters, and source meters Proficiency with basic shop arithmetic Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance Experience with cranes, rigging, forklifts, or similar manufacturing equipment Soldering experience J-STD certification Technical Skills Mechanical Assembly Fabrication Prototype Testing Rework and Quality Testing Engineering Drawings / Schematics Shop Planning Composite Material Handling Adhesive Pot Life / Out-Time Tracking Hand Tools Torque Application Microsoft Office Electronic Test Equipment Digital Multimeters DC Power Supplies Source Meters Soldering ISO Standards Cranes / Rigging / Forklifts Additional Notes Supports Northrop Grumman Spacecraft Components Strong fit for mechanically inclined manufacturing technicians with aerospace, spacecraft, composite, assembly, or test experience U.S. Citizenship required Flexible hours, overtime, and shift changes may be required based on manufacturing schedules Join the TASC Technical Services team, with 30 years of excellence in the staffing industry!
