Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for on-going support to manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment, materials, documentation, training, and production processes operate efficiently and safely. This role consists of troubleshooting production issues, maintaining work areas, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and helping meet safety, quality and production goals by managing tasks and projects. Serves as a liaison between Engineering and Production.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports manufacturing engineering with implementing projects such as: CAPEX projects, lean-manufacturing, 6S programs, process-flowchart-mapping, work-cell-design, assembly lay-outs, etc.
- Effectively communicates (verbally & writing) to manage tasks and projects.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate programming on equipment such as Lasers, Panel-Bender, Turret-Punch, Press-Breaks, Welding-Robot, Automation, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain an accurate plant layout in CAD /
SolidWorks:
(facility/utilities, equipment, assembly-lines, warehouse, safety, evacuation-plan, etc.)- Supports Manufacturing Engineering by gathering labor data and entering routing.
- Assists with analyzing drawings (including prototypes) for design accuracy and setting Critical To Quality (CTQ) dimensions to ensure a repeatable and reproduceable standard low-cost process.
- Supports the implementation of Engineering Changes (EC) on the production floor for proper revision control in a documented and systematic manner per implementation plan.
- Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and managing a Total Preventive Maintenance program (TPM) for all equipment with the goal of minimizing downtime, and optimizing equipment productivity.
- Repairs / maintains equipment or call for external services for the job to be completed as scheduled. Maintains inventory of replacement parts for equipment as considered necessary.
- Assist Manufacturing Manager with budgeting for TPM program and potential equipment replacement.
- Complete problem-solving reports such as Process-Failure-Mode & Effects Analysis (P-FMEA), Non-Conforming-Reports, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective / Preventive Actions (CAPA) from MRB findings.
- Performs audits such as 6S-Safety, In-Process-QC Audit, Inventory Cycle Counts, Time & Motion Studies, etc. and drives favorable results through creativity, continuous process improvements.
- Assists with writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), QC-Control Plans and Quality Work Instructions (QWI)
- Active participant in the reduction of waste, scrap, re-work and service cost
- Assists with the proper transferring of raw materials, supplies, equipment, etc. and submits purchase requisitions accordingly to prevent stock out. Assists with physical inventory and cycle counts.
- Provides training and maintains training records for all employees.
- Effectively utilize ERP system for functions associated to position and responsibilities.
- Support operations and other departments as required to meet company objectives.
SPECIAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Panel bending programming experience is a must.
- Technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, mechanical systems, or related field preferred.
- Experience with the use of ERP systems
- Excellent with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- Familiarity with process routers, operations, and work centers
- Able to perform calculations, take time studies, interpret and enter labor data.
- Possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.
- Possess people skills and the ability to interface with other employees.
- Mobility and strength for lifting 30 lbs. Physical evaluation may be required.
- Audiometric testing may be required annually. Steel toe safety shoes and other types of personal protective equipment will be required.
- Understands and explain data of a technical nature.
- Wear proper PPE for all tasks that require them.
- Work actively with Safety team members to identify and eliminate possible safety hazards.
EDUCATIONAL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Requires 5-10 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, welding, grinding-polishing, QC.
- Requires 3-8 years of experience in programming fabrication equipment such as: laser, punch-turrets, panel benders, robotic-welders, etc.
- High School diploma or equivalent and some specialized training preferred.
- Experience with cooking products is a plus.
- Must be able to be sedentary for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to travers across the warehouse, climb stairs to 2nd floor offices.
- Work environment indoors, near other people, at times noise level will be louder than normal.
Pay:
