The Manufacturing Operations Technician is primarily responsible for inspection of produced material and operation of the production lines' winders. This position may also be utilized to assist Manufacturing Team Leader and Manufacturing Technicians (MFT) with material production in the spinning and bonding processes and may also be utilized to assist in the Converting Department. In any assigned area, the Manufacturing Operations Technician must be able to safely and efficiently operate various machinery, ensure that products meet customer expectations, identify and assist in resolution of equipment issues and safely move and store material as required. Requi r e d : High school diploma. Successful completion of initial 90-day probationary period.
Preferred:
1 or more years previous experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Construction, Trade School or has Mechanical aptitude. Comfortable computers and keyboarding skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS
Inspection Department:
Safe, efficient operation of all inspection machinery. Removal of manufacturing defects based on output of the camera inspection system and visual inspection. Ensure material is produced to meet internal width standards and customer requirements. Demonstrat e s good jud ge ment, is pe r c eptive in evaluating situa t i ons. Comm un icates clearly. Team pl a yer that r eco g nizes n eed for inter a ction with key s t a keholders and is open to suggestion and change. Requires m i ni m u m supervision, is a self-starter and can work i n dependently with li m ited guidance.
Spinning Department:
Relates well with Manufacturing Technicians (MFT), Manufacturing Team Leader and with Plant Leadership. Can safely perform basic spinning duties with guidance from Manufacturing Leader and/or Manufacturing Technicians (MFT). Can monitor and record conditions and document process upsets in the log book.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety:
Adherence to all plant safety rules and regulations. Compliance and support to continuously improve Cerex Safety policy. Empowered and expected to take action to address any unsafe situation.
Functional/Role:
Safe, efficient operation of all equipment. Understanding of and adherence to internal material requirements and customer specifications. Responsible for housekeeping efforts in assigned area. Coordinate with Maintenance personnel to resolve equipment-related issues.

Hours per shift, the employee is Sitting-2-3, Standing-6, Walking-2-3, Driving-Occasionally Exposure to high speed rotating rollers, overhead hoists, equipment with nip points, high noise levels and high temperature processes. Employee must occasionally perform the following movements: Climbing, Crouching, Grasping, Balancing, Crawling, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, Stooping, Handling, Feeling, , Fine Hand Manipulations, Overhead Lifting, Working on Ladders. Employee must frequently perform the following movements: Keying Entries. During a workday employee occasionally lifts /carries 1-50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds requires two people to carry. During a workday employee occasionally push / pulls 1-50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds requires two people to push or pull. We are seeking enthusiastic, career oriented individuals with 1-3 years recent manufacturing, industrial machine operation and/or mechanical work experience for our Cantonment, FL manufacturing facility. Trade School graduates with strong mechanical aptitude will also be considered. CEREX Manufacturing is a 24 hour/7 day operation, and applicants must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, overtime assignments, and on weekends and holidays as required. Starting wage for these positions is $15.00 per hour, and we are currently offering very attractive hiring bonuses!
