Job Title:
Production Technician Job Description The Production Technician safely handles, inspects, requalifies, and prepares gas cylinders for use, ensuring they meet established quality and safety standards. This role involves operating equipment, performing mechanical repairs, and supporting general production activities in a warehouse environment. Responsibilities Load and unload trucks and pallets with cylinders scheduled for testing or with completed cylinders ready for shipment. Perform initial visual inspections on cylinders to identify any obvious defects or issues. Verify and identify cylinder contents prior to removing labels to ensure proper handling and safety. Operate shot blasting equipment to clean cylinders and move them efficiently to the next work area. Re-qualify acetylene cylinders according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Repair cylinders as needed, following defined mechanical and safety procedures. Re-valve cylinders as required, using appropriate tools and following standard operating procedures. Paint cylinders as necessary in accordance with established painting procedures and quality standards. Follow all safety rules and maintain a safety-conscious approach in all tasks. Use hand tools and mechanical equipment to complete production, repair, and maintenance tasks. Support general production, packaging, loading, unloading, and warehouse activities as needed. Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary to support production and operational goals. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to work with hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for working with cylinders, valves, and related components. Commitment to working in a safety-conscious manner and following established procedures. Capability to perform general production, loading, unloading, and warehouse tasks. Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as required. Reliability in working a Monday through Friday schedule on a 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous knowledge of gas cylinders and industrial gases is preferred. Experience in a production, general labor, warehouse, or general production environment is beneficial. Experience with loading, unloading, packaging, and general material handling is an asset. Prior forklift experience or certification is a plus. Experience with painting or industrial finishing processes is helpful. Wearing safety toe shoes in the facility is required. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production and warehouse environment handling gas cylinders and related equipment. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You work around mechanical equipment, shot blasting and painting operations, and material-handling activities such as loading and unloading trucks and pallets. The work involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and regular use of hand tools, mechanical equipment, and potentially forklifts. Safety is a core focus, and you are required to wear safety toe shoes and follow established safety procedures at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
