Job Description

Be a part of making something awesome: ready-to-sew project kits that eliminate much of the tedious preparation so customers can get straight to making. Since 2018, Sew What Box has built a specialized manufacturing operation around a unique craft product: ready-to-sew project kits. From designing and printing cotton fabric in-house to laser-cutting each project's fabric pieces, our team gets to be a part of roughly 1,400 creative journeys each month through the sewing subscription boxes that we create, manufacture, and curate for our customers. We're looking for a dependable, hands-on person who enjoys learning how things work and takes pride in producing something tangible. We're looking for someone who likes staying busy, cares about doing things correctly, can work independently, and doesn't give up when something takes a little persistence to figure out. You'll learn multiple stages of our production process—from industrial textile printing and CO₂ laser cutting to assembly, quality control, and packaging. You don't need to know how to operate our equipment. We'll train you.
Responsibilities:
Cut fabrics with our CO2 laser cutting machine while wearing applicable PPE. Print fabrics with our industrial quilting cotton printers. Follow production schedules, meeting deadlines accurately. Maintain quality standards by noticing and removing flawed material. Stack, organize, and prepare fabric pieces efficiently while maintaining quality. Ensure that production areas and machines are cleaned and organized. Assist with fabric folding, kit assembly, and subscription box preparation. Learn general operation of heat press. Keep production moving by completing assigned work efficiently and communicating when materials, equipment, or processes need attention. Any other related production duties as needed. You'll learn several stages of our production process. Your day may include operating equipment, preparing materials, assembling products, performing quality checks, and keeping production moving. As you become proficient, you'll take on additional equipment and responsibilities.
Hiring Requirements:
Must be 18+ Must be comfortable with repetitive production tasks while maintaining consistent quality and pace. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently once trained. Must have the ability to learn computer software. Must be able to distinguish between colors. Must be able to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Experience working with printers or large machines is preferred but not required. No sewing experience is required. We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is excited to learn our production processes and equipment.
Schedule:
This is a regular, ongoing position with a consistent 32-hour schedule. You'll work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with Wednesdays and weekends off.
Location:
In Post Falls near the intersection of Prairie and Beck. Located in a gated complex with shared bathroom about 200 yards walk from our units.
Starting pay:
$19-20/hour based on experience and demonstrated skill.
Pay:
