Job Description

Position Summary:
The Production Machine Set-Up - Level 1 position is responsible for the setup, operation, adjustment, and sanitation of production equipment. This role ensures that machines are properly configured for efficient, safe, and high-quality production while minimizing downtime. This role supports basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and collaborates with Quality Control and Maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform accurate setup and changeovers of filling, labeling, and packaging equipment according to production specifications and SOPs. Configure label machines and printers for correct lot numbers, batch numbers, and products. Start, operate, monitor, adjust, troubleshoot and safely shut down production equipment. Ensure machines are running efficiently to meet production goals and quality standards. Inspect machines and production output to ensure compliance with company standards. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP guidelines, and safety regulations. Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of machinery and production areas according to established procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with preventive maintenance activities, inspections, and basic servicing of equipment. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or faults to maintenance staff promptly. Operate forklift (if certified) to transport raw materials to production lines. Serve as backup for machine operators and assist production line workers when needed. Assist maintenance technicians with repairs and adjustments as needed. Collaborate effectively with production, quality, and maintenance teams. Other duties assigned as necessary.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in cosmetics, personal care, or food. Experience with machine setup, changeovers, or mechanical systems. Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety guidelines. Detail-oriented with strong focus on quality and accuracy. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. The capacity to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stretch, and reach to operate and clean machinery. Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot and cold environments). Must be able to visually inspect equipment and production output.
