National Gypsum Services Company has an immediate opening for Production Technicians at our Rensselaer, IN location. This position will report to the assigned Ready-Mix Department Manager.

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Technician safely produces quality joint compound as part of a four-member crew rotating through four main workstations currently on a daily basis. The four workstations or positions including mixer operator, packaging operator, take-off operator, and utility. Essential job functions for each workstation (not all inclusive):
Mixer Operator:
Operate and monitor mix process computer and controls; Perform formula changeovers; Collect product samples and adjust process according to test results; Coordinate with packaging operator, take-off, and utility on status of production run; Produce batches at predetermined standard rate; Maintenance and trouble-shooting of machinery and equipment; and Housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, picking-up trash, etc.
Packaging Operator:
Operate and monitor packaging line (cartons and pails). Maintain standard production rate; Operate forklift; Load raw cartons, pails, plastics and pallets onto packaging machines; Coordinate with mixer, take-off, and utility on status of production run; Changeover packaging equipment to and from cartons/pails; Maintenance and trouble-shooting of machinery and equipment; and Housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, picking-up trash, emptying hoppers, etc.
Take-off Operator:
Operate forklift; Count, label, and warehouse finished product; Operate and monitor palletizing and stretch wrapping equipment; Coordinate with mixer, packer, and utility on status of production run; Weigh and dump hand-adds into hopper; Maintain raw material supply; Maintenance and trouble-shooting of machinery and equipment; and Housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, picking-up trash, emptying hoppers, etc.
Utility Operator:
Assist mixer operator with quality tests/checks and collecting samples; Assist take-off operator with weighing and dumping hand-adds; Perform trouble-shooting and maintenance of equipment; Assist with trouble spots on the line or mix process equipment; Coordinates and communicates with mixer, packaging operator and take-off on status of production run; Relieves mixer, packaging, and take-off for lunch breaks; Perform PM maintenance; Housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, picking-up trash, etc; and Assist where needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
One Team mindset. Ability to accurately measure, weigh and add all ingredients in batches. Ability to collect and process samples. Ability to drive a lift truck. Ability to climb stairs and manually lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand for long periodd throughout shift. Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, policies and procedures. Available to work overtime and weekends based on production needs.
