The Operator (SMC) is responsible for operating equipment and processes related to Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) production. This role supports the preparation, processing, and handling of composite materials to ensure consistent product quality and efficient production flow. The position plays a critical role in maintaining process control, supporting production targets, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. What You Can Expect to Do as an Operator (SMC): Operate SMC production equipment and follow established procedures Prepare and process materials used in sheet molding compound production Monitor production processes to ensure consistent product quality Perform quality checks and verify product specifications Handle materials and support staging of raw and finished goods Maintain accurate production records and documentation Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards Assist in troubleshooting equipment or process issues Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas Communicate issues or deviations to leads and supervisors What We Are Looking For in an Operator (SMC): High school diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or composite materials environments preferred Experience with SMC or similar production processes is a plus Certified and prepared to wear respirator when needed Ability to drive a forklift Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures Strong attention to detail and consistency Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Strong commitment to safety and quality standards Good communication and teamwork skills Why Join IP Corporation?
