Job Description

Summary:
Under the direction of lead person or general plant supervision, the person is expected to operate equipment and move product within the area in a manner acceptable to the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.
Experience:
6 months manufacturing experience, preferred
Other:
Able to read and write legibly Able to read blueprints, shop drawings, and work from sketches Good knowledge of shop mathematics, work-in-process, and finished product Good manual dexterity and coordination Physically able to lift up to 51 lbs. for approximately 60% of the time Employees required to work up to 12 hours shift and more than 40 hours per week as scheduled. Able to work on own initiative without immediate supervision Able to adjust and use computerized gauging Ability to attain knowledge of metric dimensions Able to easily communicate with people Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift. Job Duties & Requirement (included but not limited to the following): Set-up and operate a variety of power machinery such as shear, roll, punch, cope, form, robotics, etc. for materials of a standard, semi-standard or special type where frequent and complex set-ups are necessary. Works from blueprints, order pickers, routing tickets, cutting lists, shop drawing, and architect drawings as required Must be able to mathematically calculate gauging and set-ups when processing special work and make adjustments accordingly Attach fire labels (training required) & identification labels as needed Crosstrain with other operators and in other areas Maintain necessary paperwork as required Move material into and out of work area Assess quality of work-in-process Perform shop preventive maintenance duties as assigned. Check status of orders to ensure they are processed properly and on time Employees are required to work shifts of up to 12 hours and more than 40 hours/week as scheduled. Other duties as assigned.
