Collins Aerospace has an immediate opening for an Environmental Screen and Stress (ESS) Technician III in Burnsville, MN. The chosen candidate will support a Production Vibration and Environmental Lab in a team-oriented atmosphere with other technicians and engineers. This individual will be involved with supporting the test and verification of flight critical avionics products.
What You Will Do:
Support manufacturing activities through the resolution of production problems and preparation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation. Operate production equipment, responsible for flight critical commercial and military aerospace components. Follow guidelines, documents and diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met while testing flight critical avionics, sensors, and probes. Maintain required accurate data logs and documents in accordance with Collins' policies and procedures, and government regulations. Can define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret concrete variables. Demonstrate effective communication and regular interaction with management, customers, and internal / external auditors. Deliver work with attention to detail, accuracy, and schedule. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Debug of test systems and test set ups. Must be highly motivated and dedicated to exceeding customer expectations. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform additional duties as necessary. Implement EH&S processes and procedures; recognize safety hazards, including hazardous materials.
What You Will Learn:
Participate in high level technical work with little or no instruction. Responsible for moderate level of planning. Follows blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met. Participate on project teams. Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of complex products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where ingenuity and judgments are required. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a HS Diploma with a minimum of 2 year of relevant experience. Able to lift 30 pounds and work with heavy equipment, tooling and fixtures. Good mechanical and electrical aptitude, with solid dexterity and hand/eye coordination to work with hand tools.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Working knowledge of Digital Meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and related equipment and a general understanding of calibrated test equipment. Electronics troubleshooting. Enjoy a variety of different pop-up tasks. Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment where priorities can change with demands. Strong computer skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel) and basic knowledge of databases are needed. Be a self-starter, ambitious, and a conscientious individual with whom possesses very high attention to detail, capable of working in a fast-paced development environment. Must be flexible working in both process-controlled environments and capable of executing technical tasks in a development prototype environment. Work schedule could be flexible Friday, Saturday and Sunday (3x12 hour shifts).
