Wire Draw Operator:

Starkville, MS. Pay is $20.64/hr. plus $1 night shift premium. 7PM - 7AM.

Common hand/measurement tools Interpret PO's and pre-plan jobs/shift priorities Meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements Identify preferred take up reels Minimum 1 year in manufacturing setting

Essential Job Functions:

Safely operate the wire drawing line, breaking down copper and aluminum rods into the required wire sizes. Read and interpret Bills of Materials and production orders to correctly set up and configure the machine. Determine proper dies and string dies and set up gearboxes according to the production specifications. Perform accurate Outer Diameter (O.D.) checks and inspect finished wire to ensure compliance with quality standards. Change bobbins and stems and conduct welding of rods as needed.

Working Conditions:

Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift up to 45 pounds. You must be able to work in extreme hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate-control and exposure to dust, fumes, gases and chemicals. The hopper vacuums, motors, air-wipes and other machinery can be quite noisy. Education High School Diploma or GED A resume is required Applicants must be at least 18 years of age All applicants must pass a drug screen and submit to a background check.
