Full-Time About the Role Bear Creek Arsenal is looking for an experienced Armorer to support the assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of rifles, pistols, upper assemblies, and related firearm components. This position is hands-on and requires a strong understanding of AR-platform firearms, safe handling practices, proper assembly methods, and quality expectations. The Armorer will work closely with Assembly, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Production leadership to help ensure every firearm and upper assembly is built correctly, functions properly, and meets BCA standards before reaching the customer.
Key Responsibilities The Armorer will:
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and rework rifles, pistols, upper assemblies, lowers, bolt carrier groups, and related firearm components.
  • Verify proper assembly, fit, function, torque, headspace, gas system alignment, trigger function, safety operation, and overall firearm condition.
  • Troubleshoot customer returns, production defects, test-fire failures, and assembly-related issues.
  • Support production by identifying recurring defects and helping correct root causes.
  • Perform final inspection and functional checks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, issues found, corrective actions, and parts used.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering to improve assembly procedures, inspection standards, and product reliability.
  • Train or assist assembly employees on proper firearm assembly techniques and defect prevention.
  • Follow all firearm safety rules, company policies, ATF compliance requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and secure. Desired Experience
  • Prior armorer, gunsmith, firearms assembly, military armorer, law enforcement armorer, or firearms manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of AR-15 and AR-10 platforms.
  • Ability to diagnose cycling issues, feeding issues, extraction/ejection problems, trigger/safety issues, gas system problems, and accuracy-related concerns.
  • Experience using gauges, torque tools, punches, vises, fixtures, hand tools, and inspection tools.
  • Ability to read work instructions, specs, drawings, and repair notes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications
  • AR-platform armorer certification preferred but not required.
  • Gunsmithing school, military armorer training, or law enforcement armorer certification is a plus.
  • Experience with test firing, firearm troubleshooting, barrel installation, gas block alignment, BCG inspection, and headspace checks.
  • Familiarity with calibers such as 5.
56, .223 Wylde, .300 Blackout, .308, 7.62x39, 6.5 Grendel, .350 Legend, .450 Bushmaster, 9mm, .22 LR, .22 Magnum, and .17 HMR is a plus.
