Incorporated in 2016, Lawson Cryogenic has grown from one location with three technicians in Baytown, TX to two locations with 45+ employees in 2026. The opening of our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Gretna, NE in 2025 was a key step in Lawson Cryogenic's growth and commitment to expanding its product offerings. Due to our growth, we are seeking a highly dependable and motivated Drafting Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between design and execution. This is an in-person role at our Gretna facility working M-F 8am-5pm. Duties Create 3D modeled parts and assemblies, technical drawings and blueprints from engineering designs, sketches and specifications using CAD software. Work with shop personnel to deliver drawings that help them achieve production within acceptable tolerances. Write engineering revisions (ERs) based on information from the Lead Engineer, implement them through updated drawings, and ensure all relevant personnel are aware of ERs. Organize drawings and keep drawing records and revision levels up to date in the company software system. Review drawings for accuracy and conformance to applicable industry, safety and company standards. Calculate dimensions, weights and material quantities, and assist with material estimating as requested. Create new bill of materials (BOMs) and manage existing BOMs in ERP software. Requirements Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software; Solid Edge knowledge preferred. Knowledge of drafting practices, geometry, and dimensioning and tolerancing. Ability to read schematics/blueprints and apply technical specifications and manufacturing standards. Strong attention to detail, with disciplined document and revision control. Experience with Fulcrum or similar ERP software or document management system preferred. Effective communication skills for working with engineering staff and shop personnel. Solid work and attendance history. Associate's degree or higher in drafting or a related field preferred. 2-3 years of drafting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience creating production drawings and processing engineering revisions preferred. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
