SMT Operator (Surface Mount Technology) Merrimack, NH $23
  • 27 per hour Temp-to-Perm Opportunity Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented SMT Operator to support the assembly of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and performing basic maintenance on SMT production equipment to ensure high-quality output. The ideal candidate will follow work instructions, engineering specifications, and quality standards to maintain accuracy and efficiency on the production line. Key Responsibilities Operate SMT equipment including stencil printers, solder paste inspection (SPI), pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens Perform machine setups, program loading, and line changeovers Load feeders, verify component part numbers, and ensure proper material availability Inspect assemblies for solder defects, component placement, polarity, and overall workmanship Monitor equipment performance and perform basic troubleshooting as needed Complete production documentation and maintain accurate traceability records Follow ESD procedures, safety protocols, and

quality standards Communicate production or quality issues to supervisors, engineering, or quality teams Assist with routine equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required Experience 1-2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or SMT assembly preferred Basic understanding of PCB assembly processes and surface mount components Skills Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and work instructions Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing systems Experience using inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, or AOI systems Soft Skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Reliable and punctual with good time management Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of
IPC-A-610
Class 2 or Class 3 standards Experience in high-reliability industries such as aerospace or defense Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 30 lbs Good manual dexterity for handling small components Work performed on a manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, soldering processes, chemical fumes, and ESD-controlled areas Must follow all safety guidelines and use required PPE #
