Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented PC Production Technician to join our team. As a PC Production Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, configuring, and testing personal computers (PCs) and related components. You will work closely with our production team to ensure that each PC meets the highest standards of quality and functionality. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for technology.
Responsibilities:
Assembly of computer components into chassis / mechanical assembly / basic testing. Install and connect various hardware components such as motherboards, processors, memory modules, hard drives, graphics cards, and power supplies. Install and configure operating systems and software applications on PCs. Perform thorough quality control checks to ensure that each PC meets defined standards of performance and reliability. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, diagnose problems, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments. Conduct functional and stress tests on assembled PCs to ensure proper functionality and performance. Maintain accurate records of inventory, including serial numbers, part numbers, and quantities. Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of PC assembly and testing. Assist in the development and improvement of production processes, including identifying areas for increased efficiency or quality enhancement. Stay updated with the latest advancements in PC hardware, software, and industry trends to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date. Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines in the workplace.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in computer hardware or related fields are a plus. Proven experience in PC assembly, configuration, and troubleshooting. Solid knowledge of computer hardware components, including CPUs, memory, storage devices, and graphics cards. Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and software installation processes. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and assembly instructions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve hardware and software issues. Attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy during assembly and testing processes. Effective time management and organizational skills to meet production deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Self starting personality and ability to multi-task. Reliable transportation. Ability to work overtime as needed. Experience replacing multi-pin surface-mount devices (SMD) and through-hole power components. (Preferred)
Physical Requirements:
The PC Production Technician position may involve the following physical requirements: Ability to lift and move computer components weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods during the assembly process. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise component installation and testing.
