Albuquerque, NM Job Details Part-time $18 - $25 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Graphic design Attention to detail CorelDRAW Professional art or design Full Job Description Responsibilities The Laser Engraving Production Technician will: Set up and operate CO2 and fiber laser engraving systems Prepare artwork and production files for engraving, marking, and cutting Use CorelDRAW and Adobe Creative Cloud applications to create, modify, clean up, and prepare customer artwork Convert logos and other artwork into production-ready vector files Determine appropriate laser settings based on material and desired result Engrave and mark a variety of materials, including metal, acrylic, glass, wood, plastics, coated materials, and customer-supplied products Properly position, fixture, focus, and test products prior to production Review customer proofs and work orders to ensure accuracy before engraving Inspect finished products for engraving quality, spelling, placement, alignment, and overall appearance Perform basic laser cleaning and routine maintenance Assist with assembly and finishing of awards, plaques, trophies, gifts, and other custom products Maintain an organized, clean, and safe production area Help troubleshoot artwork, equipment, and production issues Work efficiently to meet customer deadlines while maintaining high quality standards Ideal Qualifications We are especially interested in candidates with: Previous experience operating CO2 laser engraving/cutting equipment Previous experience operating fiber laser marking equipment Experience with CorelDRAW Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications Strong graphic design and vector artwork skills Experience preparing customer-supplied logos and artwork for production Knowledge of common engraving materials and laser processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work Good computer and file-management skills Ability to work independently once trained Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new equipment and processes Experience in the awards, engraving, signage, printing, promotional products, fabrication, or personalization industries is a plus. What We're Looking For This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys a combination of graphic design and hands-on production work . You should be comfortable working at a computer to prepare artwork and then moving into the production area to turn that artwork into a finished physical product. Because much of our work is personalized and one-of-a-kind, attention to detail is extremely important . The right person will take the time to verify names, dates, spelling, artwork, dimensions, and placement before beginning production.
