Job Description

Work Hours:
6:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Monday thru
Thursday Reports To:
Manufacturing Manager Summary / Objective The Assembly Technician Level 2 completes assembly preparation, primary assembly completion, shop maintenance, shipping and inventory receiving as approved by management. Accepted quality control procedures and routine operations are followed. Essential Functions 1) Assembly Preparation Completes preparation of sub-assemblies that are necessary for the primary inventory assembly items. This includes, but is not limited to flame rods, ignition components, controller assembly, and pallet assembly. Boxes completed inventory assembly for stock or shipping processes. 2) Primary Assembly Completion Completes the necessary procedural steps to complete a primary inventory assembly. Performs bench-type testing of mechanical and electrical assemblies. This includes but is not limited to BMS controllers and FT Ignition Units. 3) Shop Maintenance Maintains the work area / warehouse, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. 4) Shipping Completes tasks associated with shipping product from SureFire's warehouse to clientele. 5) Inventory Receiving Receives incoming shipments and reports defective materials. Competencies 1) Technical Capacity Must have basic skills in the operation of small hand tools and power tools. Must have or quickly learn some electrical and mechanical skills. 2) Learning Orientation Must be able to learn and retain new skills in a timely manner. 3) Time Management Must be competent with time management and able to work under time constraints to accommodate necessary assembly schedules. 4) Thoroughness Quality is a top priority, so workmanship must be detail and quality oriented. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to the following: Open flame for ignition testing. Power tools such as chop saws, power drills, etc. Elevated or precarious places, such as performing maintenance on a ladder. Noise level ranges from a moderate level to a moderately loud level. This position must be able to speak and communicate in English. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to do the following: Stand for extended periods of time. Utilize hands to handle or operate tools, controls, climb or balance. Walk across a shop or outside environment, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Regularly lift 10 pounds with occasionally lifting and moving up to 35 - 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required for this position, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This position is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position. Work weeks are 40 hours per week. Days and Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Travel No travel is required for this position. Required Education and Experience Education requirements are based on skills and duties/tasks that are job related and consistent with business necessity. Highschool diploma or GED equivalent. One year of related experience. One year of Level 1 experience. Preferred Education and Experience Manufacturing assembly and understanding of electronics. Shipping and receiving. Computer experiences in Microsoft suites and outlook. Other Duties All other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by management. Pay:
$14.50 - $16.00 per hour
