Penetrant Line Operator

LOCATION

SHIFT:

TBD, Train on Day 6:00am - 2:30pm BBSI is currently accepting applications for a Penetrant Line Operator for our manufacturing client in Milwaukie. The Penetrant Line Operator assist in the application of fluorescent penetrant on castings as part of the penetrant inspection process. This position plays a vital role in ensuring products meet specifications and quality requirements. Penetrant Line Operators perform daily tasks such as: Completing all steps in the preparation and application of penetrant to castings. Chemically etch castings by local or swab etching, neutralize parts with water, and neutralize holding tanks. Places clean castings on penetrant line, applies fluorescent penetrant liquid using hand-held sprayer and allows penetrant to be absorbed. Washes castings to remove penetrant, pre-dries with fans, and place in cabinets to dry. Places castings in developing cabinet for automatic application of powdered developer. Visually inspecting castings for surface dirt - cleaning and degreasing as necessary. Maintaining penetrant line equipment and work area. Although this is an entry level position, some specific experience and requirements are necessary, such as: High school graduation or GED (necessary for NDT certification). Ability to write, read, and follow specifications on Tech Cards. Ability to pass pre-employment assessment exam. Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing twenty to forty pounds, and occasionally up to eighty pounds. Candidates will need to pass an assessment exam to be considered for this position. Must have proof of US Person status for ITAR regulations - can only be validated with a current US Passport, US Permanent Resident Card, or certified US Birth Certificate.
