Now Hiring Machine Operators for a Manufacturing Company in Chambersburg, PA! 5pm-5am- 2/2/3 schedule- enjoy half the month off in working days! $22.48/hr to start Full-time/long-term Stable work with opportunities for growth! Job Description This role operates high-speed filling and packaging equipment in a food manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You will set up, run, and adjust processing machines, perform minor mechanical repairs, and support cleaning and quality processes while working a 2/2/3 rotating schedule on designated teams. Responsibilities Operate filling and packaging equipment safely and efficiently in a food manufacturing environment. Complete daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks, including adjusting and aligning all primary functions of the machinery. Perform minor mechanical repairs and replace certain defective parts to keep equipment running smoothly. Set up jobs on machines by feeding containers onto conveyor lines and entering product information into computer systems. Conduct quality audits of filled products to ensure fill levels meet maximum and minimum specifications. Support packing and production activities at the end of each line as needed to meet production goals. Stop machines and assist in breaking down and mechanically disassembling equipment for clean-in-place (CIP) procedures, which may involve working in wet conditions. Maintain compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and
HACCP/FDA
regulations, including accurate completion of daily production records and quality reports. Assist in training production assistants on GMP standards and safety rules to promote a safe and compliant work area. Use hand tools and basic mechanical skills to support equipment setup, adjustments, and minor repairs. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues, minimize downtime, and improve production efficiency. Essential Skills Experience as a machine operator, packaging operator, filler operator, processing machine operator, or production line operator. Background in food manufacturing or food processing machine operation (strongly preferred for top candidates). At least 3 years of recent experience in a highly mechanical role such as diesel mechanic, automotive mechanic, mechanical assembler, or maintenance, or equivalent mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated ability to use hand tools safely and effectively. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and
HACCP/FDA
regulations for food production. Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and replace basic machine parts. Ability to set up and operate production lines, including feeding containers and entering product information into computer systems. Strong attention to detail for quality auditing and accurate completion of production and quality records. Solid work history demonstrating reliability, consistency, and strong work ethic. Ability to present and interview well, with clear communication skills and professional demeanor. Comfort working in a loud, warm, and fast-paced manufacturing environment. Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 rotating schedule, including nights and weekends as assigned. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in food manufacturing or operating food processing and filling equipment is preferred but not required. Previous production line experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting. Experience training or mentoring other team members on safety and GMP standards. Mechanical aptitude gained through hands-on roles such as automotive, diesel, or industrial maintenance work. Ability to adapt to different training schedules, including first, second, third shifts or 5 pm-5 am training. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to equipment and process issues. Interest in long-term career growth into lead, supervisory, or office-based roles. Why Work Here?
