Job Title:
Production Technician Job Description As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for assembling small parts using hand tools. You will work with cable harnesses and be expected to proficiently read and interpret drawings. Your role will require strong attention to detail and basic computer skills. Responsibilities Assemble small parts from schematic and technical drawings. Follow work instructions to ensure accurate assembly. Use small screwdrivers to secure bolts to parts. Utilize tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, solder stations, and heat guns. Operate various hand tools, VOM, cable tester, and tape measure. Apply general mechanical techniques such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices. Verify measurements to ensure part compliance using devices like calipers and pin gauges. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Work collaboratively within a production team environment. Essential Skills Experience with electronics and cable harness assembly. Proficiency in soldering with at least 6 months of experience. Strong attention to detail documented through references. Ability to read and interpret drawings proficiently. Basic computer skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with fiber optics. General knowledge of mechanical techniques. Ability to verify part dimensions against drawing requirements. Why Work Here? Work Environment The company operates in an old ice skating rink building, providing a unique work setting. With a team of about 20 people, the atmosphere is casual, and jeans are acceptable attire. For those involved in soldering, wearing ESD smocks is required. The environment is climate-controlled and clean. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnstown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
