PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

$17.00/hour Full-Time, Part-Time, Contract | Immediate Start Utah Cylinder is looking for a dependable, hardworking Production Technician to join our team. We are a cylinder testing and refurbishment company that processes a variety of compressed-gas cylinders, including oxygen cylinders, SCBA tanks, scuba tanks, CO₂ cylinders, fire extinguishers, and larger industrial cylinders. This is a hands-on production position . The right person will be comfortable working with their hands, lifting and moving cylinders, learning specialized equipment and processes, and working efficiently as part of a small team. We are looking to fill this position
ASAP. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Production Technicians help move cylinders through our testing and refurbishment process from start to finish.
Responsibilities may include:
Loading, unloading, moving, and organizing cylinders throughout the shop Assisting with cylinder devalving and preparation Performing visual inspections and identifying obvious damage, corrosion, or other issues Assisting with hydrostatic testing Preparing cylinders for stripping and refurbishment Removing old paint, labels, coatings, and residue Sanding and cleaning cylinders Preparing cylinders for painting Assisting with painting and maintaining a clean paint-prep area Applying labels and testing information accurately Assisting with reassembly and revalving Checking completed cylinders for quality before they leave the shop Keeping production areas clean, organized, and safe Moving completed cylinders onto pallets and staging orders for delivery Following production priorities and deadlines Helping with general shop maintenance and organization Following all company safety procedures and instructions Learning Utah Cylinder's testing, refurbishment, and quality-control procedures
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is: Reliable and dependable Punctual and consistent with attendance Comfortable doing physical, hands-on work throughout the day Able to lift 75 lbs, carry, push, and move cylinders and equipment safely Comfortable working in a shop/industrial environment Willing to get dirty and do repetitive work when necessary Able to follow instructions carefully Detail-oriented and able to catch mistakes Safety-conscious, especially when working around compressed-gas cylinders Able to stay productive without constant supervision A team player who communicates when there is a problem Willing and able to learn new processes Comfortable working at a steady production pace Someone who takes pride in doing a job correctly , not just quickly
THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB
You don't necessarily need previous cylinder-testing experience. We can teach the right person our processes. What we can't easily teach is reliability, work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to take direction and keep moving. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, mechanical or industrial environments, warehouse work, fabrication, automotive work, construction, equipment maintenance, or other physical production jobs. Experience with any of the following is a plus: Welding or fabrication Automotive or mechanical work Manufacturing or production Warehouse work Industrial equipment Painting or surface preparation Compressed-gas cylinders DOT-regulated equipment Quality control Maintenance Previous experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.

SAFETY & QUALITY MATTER
Because we work with compressed-gas cylinders, safety and attention to detail are extremely important. Employees are expected to follow established procedures for cylinder handling, inspection, testing, storage, and movement. OSHA requires employers to ensure compressed-gas cylinders under their control are maintained in safe condition to the extent determined by applicable inspections and regulations. We would rather have someone take an extra minute to do something correctly than rush and create a safety or quality problem.
