Manufacturing Electrical Technician

Manufacturing Industrial Electrician Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support electrical systems and automated equipment in a pet food manufacturing facility. This role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant operations in a food-grade production environment, including processing, extrusion, packaging, and material handling systems. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on production and packaging equipment Troubleshoot motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and control systems to minimize downtime Support mixers, extruders, dryers, conveyors, and packaging lines Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings Perform preventive and predictive maintenance Diagnose and repair AC/DC motors, drives, relays, and control panels Assist with PLC troubleshooting and minor programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) Ensure compliance with GMPs, OSHA, and

NFPA 70E

standards Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc flash procedures Maintain maintenance records in CMMS Collaborate with operations, sanitation, and quality teams Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Technical certification or apprenticeship preferred 3+ years of industrial electrician experience (food manufacturing preferred) Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and automation systems Ability to read schematics and use testing equipment Understanding of food safety and sanitary practices Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call Preferred Qualifications Journeyman Electrician license Experience with extrusion, drying systems, or packaging equipment Knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards Experience with robotics or servo systems CMMS experience Work Environment Food-grade manufacturing environment Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment Requires strict adherence to PPE and sanitation protocols Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Stand, walk, bend, and climb as needed Work at heights and in confined spaces

Pay:

$26.00 - $32.00 per hour
