Starting at $20.00/hour+ based on experience and welding skills Position Overview We are seeking a Production Welding Technician to support manufacturing and fabrication operations. This role involves welding, fitting, assembly, finishing, and quality inspection of metal components while maintaining productivity, workmanship standards, and workplace safety. Candidates should be comfortable working with a variety of welding processes and fabrication tools in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Welding & Fabrication Perform welding using MIG, TIG, wire-feed, spot welding, and oxy-acetylene equipment as required. Weld structural and fabricated components including frames, tanks, and other assemblies. Produce welds that meet blueprint requirements and quality specifications. Complete weld cleanup and finishing operations as needed. Inspect completed welds and perform repairs or rework when necessary. Assembly & Production Lay out, fit, and assemble components using drawings, measurements, and fabrication instructions. Clamp, tack weld, drill, tap, cut, grind, and assemble materials to required configurations. Utilize material handling equipment and fabrication tools to support production activities. Assist with pressure testing and verification of fabricated products when required. Equipment & Quality Set up welding equipment and ensure proper machine operation. Replace welding wire, shielding gas, and consumables as needed. Inspect tools, equipment, and materials for defects or operational concerns. Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs. Maintain accurate production and timekeeping records. Safety & Teamwork Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards. Report production, quality, material, or safety concerns to supervision. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals. Participate in cross-training opportunities and support other departments when needed. Qualifications Previous welding experience preferred; skill level will be evaluated during the hiring process. Experience operating welding equipment and fabrication tools. Ability to read basic drawings and follow written or verbal instructions. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Education & Training High school diploma or GED required. MIG Welding Certification preferred. TIG Welding Certification is a plus. Vocational welding training or related technical education is beneficial. Professional Skills Strong teamwork and communication abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility to learn additional skills and support multiple production areas. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
