Job Description

The Digital Operator sets up the digital equipment, prints on thermal and UV inkjet printers, laminating, splitting, inspection, and packaging of the thermal printed final product. This position will troubleshoot machinery and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and quantity of production. DuraTech Industries is a growing global Printing Manufacturer located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We have been manufacturing labels, overlays and metal nameplates for a variety of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive, computer, electronics, industrial and medical markets for the past 45 years. As our company expands, we need talented, forward-thinking team members to add to our team. We have an opening for a Digital Operator! The Digital Operator sets up the digital equipment, prints on thermal and UV inkjet printers, laminating, splitting, inspection, and packaging of the thermal printed final product. This position will troubleshoot machinery and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and quantity of production. Sets up and operates all digital printing machines. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment on a daily basis and maintains a clean work environment. Produces parts according to customer specifications and company standars. Performs first piece inspection and in-process inspection; follows inspection guidelines based on the companies' standards. Inspects product regularly during press run, making mechanical and software adjustments to assure quality is maintained. Performs other production operations such as laminating, cutting, weeding, splitting and packaging. Trouble shoots printing problems and finds answers or seeks help from team leader or trainer. Notifies team leader of recurring equipment malfunctions or poor quality of raw materials. Keeps count of printed product on each run and records reject counts. Keeps accurate inventory count and orders supplies for the department as needed.
Ideal candidates will bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Computer experience with graphic art software preferred. Experience operating digital printer or manufacturing equipment preferred. Experience with small hand tools preferred. Skills and abilities crucial to success in this role: Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to work proficiently with computers. Ability to learn quickly and become proficient with in-house software applications. Ability to read and comprehend job orders and blueprints that provide specific details and instructions. Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
