Manufacturing Engineering Technician Responsibilities:
- Provide offline and online programming for laser cutters, brake presses and other CNC equipment
- Program, load and save programs on CNC equipment
- Provide continuous communication with team members to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain training and knowledge levels in accordance to software revision release
- Help troubleshoot and support the laser cutter and brake press from a software and programming perspective
- Help achieve high material utilization including usage of remnant materials and minimizing that inventor
- Regularly review current production methods in laser and forming and recommend areas of cost improvement
- Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs
- Participate in the recommendation and purchase of new capital equipment
- Assist in the development of plant layouts to maximize product throughput with the least amount of material handling and waste
- Act as a technical resource to vendors, subcontractors and suppliers to address and resolve inquiries and problems, while maintaining positive working relationships
- Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry Requirements for
Manufacturing Engineering Technician:
- Associate's degree or two years of college with job related coursework, and one to three years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to prepare routing reports, routings, and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of algebra, geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to operate a variety of standard business machines including computer
