Job Description
We are hiring Machine Assistant to join our team! We are hiring for 1st machine assistant. We work a 48 hour work week. 1st shift: Monday-Thursday 6am-4pm (10 hours) Friday 6am-2pm (8 hours) Swanson Wiper is a contract paper converter that converts non-woven wipers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Helps maintain equipment and workspace in a safe manner in keeping with good housekeeping practices under OSHA Standard 1910.22(a) and Swanson Wiper Corporation requirements.
- Immediately correct any known unsafe conditions within their ability or immediately inform the operator of unsafe conditions.
- Maintain proper hygiene, including proper handwashing whenever necessary.
- Wear clean clothes in good repair.
- Keep food in approved break areas and off the production floor.
- Keep food in approved break areas and off the production floor.
- Maintain machines and work area in clean and sanitary condition.
- Immediately inform supervision if possibility of product contamination.
- Read English and follow production orders and directions from operator and management.
- Responsible for assisting with all aspects of equipment operation including running equipment to meet accepted production rates, machine change over, basic troubleshooting, basic maintenance related to daily operation and cleaning, etc.
- Maintain accurate and complete production paperwork.
- Maintain Quality by continuous inspection and handling of finished goods. (Machine operators will provide quality tolerances)
- Communicate product defect as needed to the machine operator to stay within customer specified quality standards.
- Crew must work with safe and efficient methods of packing and stacking to optimize performance
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
Education and Experience:
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
- Repetitive hand/wrist motion for packing or loading.
- Long periods of standing/walking.
