Job Description

Position Overview:
Titomic, a global leader in Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing and Kinetic Fusion™ technology, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Material Science to lead our technology strategy and execution in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Materials Science/Engineering or a related field, with expertise in cold spray technology, automation, and material properties at the molecular level. This role is pivotal in shaping the technological advancement and growth of Titomic's U.S. operations, ensuring cutting-edge applications in aerospace, defense, and other industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the development and application of Titomic's cold spray technology, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry standards. Drive innovation in materials science, focusing on metallurgy, additive manufacturing, and cold spray processes. Design and implement testing and evaluation protocols using techniques such as SEM, TEM, and X-ray diffraction, in accordance with ASTM and Mil-Std specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions into manufacturing processes. Act as the primary technical interface with U.S. Government agencies, prime contractors, academia, research laboratories, and commercial partners. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and security requirements, including obtaining and maintaining necessary security clearances. Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering or another engineering field with a strong materials science/metallurgy emphasis (Master's or PhD preferred).
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Aerospace, Defense, Additive Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas sectors. Deep understanding of material properties at the molecular level, particularly in cold spray applications. Hands-on experience with material testing techniques, including SEM, TEM, and X-ray diffraction. Familiarity with ASTM and Mil-Std protocols. Proven ability to lead technology development initiatives and cross-functional teams, including international.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of automation and integration of cold spray technology. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
Security Requirements:
U.S. citizenship required without dual citizenship. This position requires a background check. This position may require drug testing. Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in leadership roles within a high-tech, manufacturing, or defense organization. Established network within aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
