Job Description

TA Aerospace is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our Research & Development (R&D) Laboratory team. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting laboratory testing, product development, process improvement, and engineering projects within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will work alongside engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to support the evaluation, development, and validation of aerospace materials, components, and processes. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a career in laboratory, materials, manufacturing, or product development engineering. Essential Responsibilities Assist with laboratory testing, data collection, and analysis. Support R&D projects involving materials, manufacturing processes, and product development. Prepare test specimens, conduct experiments, and document results. Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and test documentation. Assist in developing and improving laboratory procedures and work instructions. Support root cause investigations and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operations personnel to achieve project objectives. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards. Present findings and recommendations to engineering team members as needed. Qualifications Required Currently working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong people skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Prior laboratory, manufacturing, or engineering project experience through coursework, internships, or research. Familiarity with data analysis and technical report writing. Exposure to aerospace, manufacturing, materials testing, or quality systems. Experience with CAD software and engineering drawings is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment. Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
