Precision Build Solutions is looking for a technically driven Welding Engineer to join our structural steel fabrication team. This is an excellent opportunity for a welding professional who understands the technical side of fabrication and can translate welding requirements into clear, accurate procedures that support production, quality, and code compliance. The primary focus of this role will be developing, maintaining, and improving welding documentation, including Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) . You will serve as a technical resource for our welding and fabrication teams, providing expertise in welding processes, joint design, joint geometry, and production requirements. What You'll Do Develop and document Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) for welding procedure testing. Create and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) based on qualified PQRs. Establish and review appropriate welding parameters and procedures. Evaluate joint geometry, weld joint design, and fabrication requirements . Provide technical guidance and support to welders, fitters, and fabrication personnel. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and welding requirements . Troubleshoot welding-related technical issues and help production teams develop effective solutions. Ensure welding procedures align with applicable codes, specifications, and project requirements . Work closely with Quality, Production, Engineering, and Management teams. Review existing welding practices and identify opportunities for process improvements. Maintain accurate and organized welding procedures, qualifications, and technical records. Support overall quality, safety, and production objectives throughout the fabrication operation. Perform additional engineering and technical duties as needed. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree required in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field. Strong technical knowledge of welding processes and fabrication practices . Experience developing, reviewing, or working with PQRs and WPSs . Solid understanding of joint geometry and weld joint design . Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications. Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and organizational skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to production and fabrication personnel. Hands-on welding experience strongly preferred. Structural steel, heavy fabrication, or industrial manufacturing experience is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support production while maintaining technical and quality standards.
