ENGINEERING DISCIPLINES

Plastics and Composite Engineer:

Work on a variety of growth initiatives in the electric and ICE vehicle space. The position requires the passion for learning about the design and manufacture of plastics and composites, supplier interactions, design and release of plastics and composites, and participate in projects in accordance with engineering excellence. Subject matter expert in one or more areas of component design (exterior body panels, interior, chassis/structural components, and fuel tanks) and processes (injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, thermoforming). Understanding of all processes to manufacture plastic components: injection molding, thermoforming, and other common processes used for the manufacturing of products made from polymeric materials. Develop and maintain material and component specifications and qualification plans. Learn and contribute to requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R and specifications, engineering change notices. Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities. Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects. Support the development of technology roadmaps and strategies. Assist in developing test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or Plastics Engineering Technology, or equivalent is required.

Experience:

3+ years' experience is recommended.
